Festival season is coming soon and I have decorated my tent in a very cool medieval style. It has deep wine and gold accent colors and I think it looks quite “boudoirish” It will be great fun to see people react to my collection and also see some awesome music.
I am distracted by thoughts of my upcoming journey through Europe.
Myself through England, France, Italy and Spain. I am sure it will be good for me though I am a little frightened.
Today I booked my flight to Venice…I can hardly believe it.
I am going to travel with my corsets and only a carry on bag. I don’t like hauling stuff around.
I will be attending the OCC Oxford Corset Conference in the last weekend of August and then well on from there!
One of the many sites i may see on my trip to Sante Fe!
I can hardly believe I will get to visit this incredible sounding city.
I am sure to be inspired by the colors and architecture!
After a somewhat frustrating day yesterday of hubby inferring I should get a real job at someplace like a greeter at home depot, I cried a few tears and thought of CoCo.
She too was ostracized, criticized. Fortunately for me anger has always been a huge motivator,
The day ended nicely as we went to see band Bocephus King, which I loved dancing to? Doesn’t anyone but me dance anymore? Fortunately their grooves fit in perfectly with my one repeat dance move a sort of Bollywood hip rotation with Lotus hands….
Today I am back to fighting a beast of a skirt which has a huge ruffle of about 1o meters gathered to the hem of a skirt, it is in peach and black and being designed to match one of my favorite antique boudoir dolls outfits.
Some pics around the house, in the background our wood boiler shack.
This corset is made of an amazing silk brocade fabric. As you can see it really glows.
The wood shack is made of stack wall construction.
The wood stove heats both our house and my studio.
It’s not New York, but baby its all I got.
January 10, Second day of blog and 42 years old.
The morning started off delectably being served a latte and handmade card while still in bed.
The snow is piling up outside and the scene is a monochromatic white and grey.
I received a lovely gift from my mother in law, It came wrapped in a Montreal Beaux Museum of Arts bag tied with a black ribbon, inside a gorgeous vintage stretch bracelet of vintage rhinestones that is quite small, sophisticated and lovely.
Also a vintage Hermes scarf! Well she is not sure if it is authentic but it looks great to me. Reminding me of our trip to Montreal and the incomparable Pierre at the Hermes counter~
I will finish up and photograph a green silk brocade overbust corset that looks lovely and then decide how to meander through my special day.
Cranbrook offers Winners for shopping, SuperStore or thrift.
I believe I will pursue the latter and perhaps a stop at the library for good measure.
